Sexual Harassment Committees

Sexual harassment is a serious criminal offence, which can destroy human dignity and freedom to safe guard the interest of the children and women employees, Victoria College of Education, Sehore, has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The committee shall defy sexual harassment at work place and creates a mechanism for redressal of complaints. The Committee deals with issues relating to sexual harassment at the Victoria College of education, Sehore. It is applicable to all students and staff.

This will contribute to realization of their right to gender equality, life and likely in working conditions everywhere. The sense of security will improve women’s participation in work resulting in their economic empowerment and inclusive growth.

ST/ SC Committee

In the quest of educational equity and support, the SC/ST Committee, operating under the umbrella of the Student Welfare Committee, has been a beacon of guidance for students belonging to the reserved categories. This committee is not just a body within the institution; it is a movement towards inclusivity and empowerment.

Awareness and Enrolment in Reserved Categories. The committee’s first and foremost objective is to raise awareness among prospective students about the enrolment process for reserved categories during admission. Through meticulously crafted notices and informative sessions, the committee ensures that every student is well-informed about their rights and the opportunities available to them.

Scholarship Assistance and Problem Resolution Furthermore, the committee takes an active role in encouraging students to avail themselves of various scholarships earmarked for SC, ST, and OBC categories. Recognizing the financial hurdles that often impede the academic journey of many, the committee members dedicate themselves to not only spreading awareness but also assisting in the application process.

Should any issues arise regarding scholarships, the committee stands ready to intervene. The concerned committee members are equipped to address and resolve problems, ensuring that students receive the support they deserve without undue delay or complication.

Anti-Ragging Committees

The Anti-ragging Committee of the college is constituted in the academic year 2018-2019 in adherence to the directions of the honourable Supreme Court, UGC and Government of India. The following are the committee members and they shall receive complaints pertaining to ragging and take necessary action.

Counselling & Women’s Cell

A Counselling and Women Cell has been constituted in the college to provide holistic support to students, particularly those facing emotional, academic, or personal challenges. The cell offers confidential counselling sessions, helping students cope with stress, anxiety, and other issues through guidance and empathetic listening. It also actively addresses matters related to women's safety, dignity, and empowerment, ensuring a secure and inclusive environment on campus.

Functioning under a dynamic team of faculty and student members, the cell remains active and approachable throughout the academic year. With new members joining annually, the cell not only fosters participation but also nurtures leadership, empathy, and decision-making skills among students. This initiative empowers them to respond thoughtfully and responsibly in challenging situations, contributing to a more supportive and aware college community.

Student Welfare Cell

A Student Welfare Cell has been constituted in the college to look after the overall well-being and development of students. The cell provides necessary guidance, support, and counselling to help students overcome academic and personal challenges. It organizes various programs and activities aimed at enhancing student life, ensuring their mental, emotional, and social well-being. The cell plays a vital role in creating a positive and student-friendly atmosphere on campus.

Grievance Redressel Cell

A Grievance Redressal Committee has been constituted in the college to address and resolve the concerns of both students and teachers. The committee ensures a fair, transparent, and timely resolution of academic, administrative, or personal issues. It aims to create a supportive and responsive environment by promoting open communication and mutual respect. This initiative reflects the college’s commitment to maintaining harmony and upholding the rights and dignity of all stakeholders.

College Cultural Society

A college cultural has been formed in Victoria College of Education, Sehore which is a vibrant and dynamic forum formed with the active participation of both faculty members and students. It serves as the cultural heartbeat of the institution, fostering creativity, inclusivity, and student engagement. The society takes the lead in organizing a wide array of major events and cultural programs throughout the academic year. These include annual functions, festivals, traditional day celebrations, talent shows, and inter-college competitions. Special emphasis is laid on observing important national and international days to promote awareness and reflection among students. Through rallies, street plays, exhibitions, and seminars, the society sensitizes the campus community to pressing social issues. It ensures student participation in external cultural meets and youth festivals, boosting confidence and representation.

The society acts as a platform for nurturing talents in dance, music, drama, art, debate, and other creative forms. It encourages teamwork, leadership, and event management skills among student volunteers. The events are thoughtfully planned, keeping in mind cultural diversity and inclusivity. Faculty mentors guide students in planning and execution, maintaining balance between learning and celebration. Regular meetings and brainstorming sessions keep the society active and innovative. The society also works to bridge the gap between students and the community through outreach programs. It instils a sense of pride, unity, and responsibility among students towards their college and society. Overall, the Cultural Society plays a pivotal role in shaping a well-rounded and vibrant campus atmosphere.

Sports Society

The Sports Society of the Victoria College has been established to promote physical fitness, team spirit, and active student participation in sports. It provides a structured platform for students to showcase and nurture their latent talent in various sports disciplines. With the college offering the BPES course, special emphasis is laid on expanding and enhancing sports activities and infrastructure. The society actively organizes sports tournaments, fitness camps, athletic meets, and inter-college competitions.

Students are regularly encouraged to participate in zonal, university, and national-level events. Regular training sessions and expert coaching help students improve their performance and sportsmanship. The Sports Society plays a vital role in making sports a key area of activity and identity for the college. It promotes a culture of discipline, endurance, and healthy competition on campus. Collaboration with faculty ensures effective planning and smooth conduct of all sporting events. The society contributes to the overall personality development of students through physical and mental engagement in sports.
